Online Volume of a Square Tutors

Online Volume of a Square Tutors A square is a 2-dimensional geometric shape which consists of 4 equal sides aligned perpendicular to each other. We can calculate the area of a square and the perimeter of a square, but in order to calculate the volume we need 3 dimensions and hence we cannot calculate the volume of a square. However, a cube is 3-dimensional structure which consists of 6 congruent square surfaces with equal sides. Therefore the volume of a cube can be calculated and it depends on the length of the square side. Example 1:What is the volume of the cube whose side length measures 9m? Given the side length of the cube, s = 9m A cube is formed by 6 square surfaces and volume of a cube is the measure of the space contained inside the cube. Volume of a cube, V = s3 Therefore volume of the given cube, V = (9m)3 This gives: Volume, V = 729m3 Therefore the volume of the cube whose side measures 9m is 729m3 Example 2: What is the volume of the cube whose side length measures 3m? Given the side length of the cube, s = 3m A cube is formed by 6 square surfaces and volume of a cube is the measure of the space contained inside the cube. Volume of a cube, V = s3 Therefore volume of the given cube, V = (3m)3 This gives: Volume, V = 27m3 Therefore the volume of the cube whose side measures 3m is 27m3
